Job summary

RECfinancial is recruiting an experienced Accountant for an interim 3‑month assignment to join a small, high‑performing team within a Government organisation. You’ll lead day‑to‑day financial management, reporting and planning, and support governance and corporate performance work.

The role covers budgeting, month‑end, audits and regulatory returns. You will work independently, prioritise competing demands and build strong relationships across the organisation, with a mix of remote and London

Qualifications

• ACCA/CIMA qualification or near-qualified status.
• Experience with budgeting, month-end, reporting and returns.
• Strong written, numerical and digital communication skills.
• Ability to work flexibly, collaboratively and manage priorities.

Responsibilities

• Produce financial reports, projections and management information
• Support budgeting and medium-term financial planning
• Maintain financial policies, procedures and compliance
• Administer Audit & Risk meetings, including agendas and minutes
• Process financial transactions, returns, invoices and expenses
• Complete month-end and bank reconciliations
• Prepare documentation for internal and external audits
• Support records management and corporate performance reporting
• Provide financial insight to assist decision-making
