Job summary

RM Recruit are partnering with a fantastic organisation seeking an experienced Interim Financial Accountant on a six-month basis. The role offers potential extension to a permanent position and is based in the UK with flexible hours and a two-day-per-week on-site pattern.

You will take ownership of key accounting activities, contribute to 2026/27 accounts, and work with auditors to ensure robust, compliant financial reporting.

Qualifications

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification (or strong QBE).
• Strong balance sheet reconciliation skills.
• Experience with year-end and audit processes.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for core financial accounting activities across the organisation.
• Support the preparation and maintenance of accurate accounts for 2026/27.
• Complete detailed balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Support the audit process with external accountants and resolve audit points.
• Provide technical accounting advice and coach finance colleagues.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial accounting processes and reporting.
