Job summary

Vivid Resourcing Ltd is seeking an experienced Interim Finance Business Partner - Education to support a local authority in Manchester. The role requires strong local government finance expertise with a focus on Education and Children’s Services budgets, including DSG, SEND and High Needs Block.

You will provide strategic financial insight, challenge budget assumptions, forecast, report and advise senior stakeholders to drive value and financial resilience.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Finance Business Partner in local government.
• Strong knowledge of Education and/or Children’s Services finance.
• Exposure to DSG, SEND and High Needs Block funding.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic financial support and business partnering to Education and Children's Services.
• Manage and monitor education budgets, identifying financial risks and opportunities.
• Lead on budget forecasting, financial reporting and variance analysis.
• Support DSG monitoring, including High Needs Block pressures.
• Collaborate with budget holders and senior leadership teams on financial plans reforms.
