Job Description

1. Carry out year end duties in accordance with the year-end timetable.
2. Carry out all monthly, quarterly, annual balance sheet reconciliations.
3. Reconcile the acquisitions and disposals of force assets.
4. Control and coordinate all allocated specialist functions, ensuring all costs are accurately coded, recorded and monitored.
5. Analyse and update both the staff costings, special costings and national framework agreement costings.
6. Assist with the completion of external government returns.
7. Complete month end tasks including working with BI and using reports.
8. Dealing with ad hoc requests for financial data.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Interim Finance Officer should have:

1. A full AAT qualification or working towards it
2. Experience of working in a financial environment including budgetary control and year end procedures
3. Ability to analyse, critically evaluate and interpret financial information
4. Experience of using a computerised financial information system in a medium to large sized organisation
5. Experience of working on a general ledger
6. Knowledge of financial controls, rules and regulations
7. Any experience of working with Oracle would be an advantage but not essential
8. Any experience working in the public sector would be an advantage but not essential
