Job summary

Dickson O'Brien Associates Limited in Liverpool seeks an experienced Interim Finance Director for a six-month assignment. The role is senior, with immediate leadership, strategic financial oversight and support to the COO, Board and executive team.

The Interim FD will lead the finance function, oversee reporting, budgeting, forecasting, governance and internal controls, and drive change during a period of transition. Onsite initially with flexible hybrid arrangements.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with CFO/FD level experience.
• Experience at senior leadership level with Board interaction.
• Higher Education sector experience advantageous but not essential.
• Ability to establish credibility with COO and Board from day one.

Job description

Interim Finance Director – 6 Month Contract

Liverpool | 6 Months

Role – onsite initially but usually 3 days in the office – 2 at home. They will consider a 4 day week.

We are currently supporting a Liverpool-based organisation with the appointment of an experiencedInterim FDfor an initial six-month assignment.

This is a senior leadership position requiring an experienced finance professional who can provide immediate leadership, stability and strategic financial oversight during an important period of change.

The Role

Reporting to the COO, the Interim FD will take responsibility for the leadership of the finance function and will work closely with the Executive Team and Board.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Providing strategic and operational financial leadership
• Leading and supporting the finance team
• Financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting
• Strengthening financial controls, governance and processes
• Supporting the CEO and Board with financial insight and decision-making
• Managing audit, risk and statutory requirements
• Reviewing the effectiveness of the existing finance function
• Supporting organisational change and longer-term financial planning

About You

We are looking for aqualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)with substantial experience at CFO, Finance Director level.

PreviousHigher Education experience would be advantageous but is not essential. Candidates from FE, education, public sector, NHS, charity/not-for-profit or complex commercial organisations will also be considered.

You will be a confident senior stakeholder who can quickly establish credibility with the COO, Board and wider leadership team and be comfortable taking ownership from day one
