Job summary

Dickson O'Brien is seeking an Interim Finance Director for a Liverpool-based organisation for a six-month contract. The role is onsite initially with a mix of 3 days in the office and 2 days at home; a 4-day week option may be considered.

Reporting to the COO, you will provide strategic financial leadership, lead the finance team, oversee reporting, budgeting and governance, and support the CEO and Board with financial insight through a period of change.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with substantial CFO/FD level experience.
• Experience in education/public sector/not-for-profit is advantageous but not required.
• Confident senior stakeholder able to engage with COO, Board and wider leadership from day one.

Job description

Interim Finance Director - 6 Month Contract

Liverpool | 6 Months

Role - onsite initially but usually 3 days in the office - 2 at home. They will consider a 4 day week.

We are currently supporting a Liverpool-based organisation with the appointment of an experienced Interim FD for an initial six-month assignment.

This is a senior leadership position requiring an experienced finance professional who can provide immediate leadership, stability and strategic financial oversight during an important period of change.

The Role

Reporting to the COO, the Interim FD will take responsibility for the leadership of the finance function and will work closely with the Executive Team and Board.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Strengthening financial controls, governance and processes

About You

We are looking for a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with substantial experience at CFO, Finance Director level.

Previous Higher Education experience would be advantageous but is not essential. Candidates from FE, education, public sector, NHS, charity/not-for-profit or complex commercial organisations will also be considered.

You will be a confident senior stakeholder who can quickly establish credibility with the COO, Board and wider leadership team and be comfortable taking ownership from day one
