Job summary

Mackie Myers Ltd is seeking an experienced Interim Finance Director to join a scaling, PE-backed organisation and support the CFO during a period of change. The role is hands-on and focused on driving performance across the finance function.

You will work closely with senior leadership, oversee forecasting and reporting, and develop robust financial models to guide strategic decisions and growth initiatives.

Qualifications

• Qualified with ACA/ACCA/CIMA and relevant financial management experience.
• Experience as Interim FD or Head of Finance in smaller, scaling organisations.
• Strong forecasting, budgeting and financial modelling capabilities.
• Ability to partner with senior operational stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly management accounts and financial reporting.
• Ensure robust forecasting, cashflow management and working capital oversight.
• Support year-end audit and statutory reporting activities.
• Drive improvements in reporting quality, accuracy and timeliness.
• Develop and maintain robust financial models to support strategic decision-making.
• Support the CFO with Board reporting, investor reporting and strategic planning activities.
• Provide scenario analysis and recommendations to support growth initiatives.
• Act as a trusted finance partner to operational and commercial leaders.
• Develop and monitor KPIs to drive accountability and performance.
• Support finance transformation and reporting improvement initiatives.

Candidate Profile

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
• Previous experience as an Interim Finance Director, or Head of Finance, with proven experience in smaller, scaling organisations
• Experience within financial controls and running day-to-day finance operations
• Strong forecasting, budgeting and financial modelling expertise.
• Proven ability to partner with senior operational stakeholders.
• Strong analytical skills coupled with a commercial mindset.
