Job summary

Page Executive is recruiting an Interim CFO for a PE-backed services company in Manchester. The role focuses on stabilising the finance function, gaining rapid control of financial performance, and shaping the financial plan to support strategic direction.

You will lead a small finance team, manage cashflow and reporting, and work closely with auditors and investors during a period of change, with a view to a potential permanent appointment.

Qualifications

• Ability to quickly build relationships with board-level internal and external stakeholders.
• Proven financial leadership experience in environments of change.
• Strategic and commercial skills to enable rigorous appraisal of a new strategic plan.
• Hands-on approach with a small finance team.

As an Interim CFO, you'll oversee the financial strategy and operations for a PE-backed services company. This temporary role is all about ensuring financial stability and providing leadership during a critical period of change.

Client Details

Our client is an SME (c£10m turnover) PE-backed services company based in Manchester. The role requires office presence at least three days a week, ideally more.

Description

• Providing a stabilising presence to a business and finance team in a key period of change.
• Quickly gaining control of financial performance of the company, including timely and accurate financial reporting and cashflow management.
• Supporting the board's new strategic direction by formulating an aligned financial plan, using commercial nous to challenge assumptions.
• Supervise and mentor the finance team to maintain operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with external stakeholders, including auditors and investors.
• If appropriate, providing a strong handover to the new permanent CFO.

Profile

The successful Interim CFO should have:

• Ability to quickly build relationships with board-level internal and external stakeholders.
• Proven financial leadership experience gained within environment(s) of change.
• Strategic and commercial skills to enable rigorous appraisal of a new strategic plan.
• Hands-on approach, with the ability to thrive with only a small finance team.
• Ability to thrive in a busy, interim role with clear deliverables.
• Prior experience in an investor-backed business would be very helpful, though not absolutely essential.
