Page Executive is seeking a commercially focused Finance Director for a growing private logistics and distribution group based in Staffordshire. You will partner with the Managing Director to shape financial strategy, drive performance and build a best-in-class finance function to support ambitious growth beyond £30m turnover.

The ideal candidate is a qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA with senior finance leadership experience in logistics, transport or warehousing, capable of pricing, profitability

Partnering closely with the Managing Director, you will lead financial strategy, drive operational performance, and build a best-in-class finance function to support ambitious growth plans beyond £30m turnover.

Description

• Act as a strategic partner to the Managing Director, providing financial insight and commercial challenge.
• Lead all aspects of financial management, including reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cashflow and compliance.
• Drive financial planning and analysis, ensuring informed decision-making across the business.
• Take ownership of commercial performance, including pricing strategy, customer profitability and margin enhancement.
• Support strategic initiatives such as investment decisions, expansion projects and potential acquisitions.
• Modernise finance systems, reporting capabilities and business intelligence processes.
• Implement robust controls, governance frameworks and risk management procedures.
• Develop meaningful KPIs and management information to improve operational and financial performance.
• Lead, mentor and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Manage relationships with banks, auditors, advisors and other external stakeholders.

Profile

The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with a proven track record in a senior finance leadership role, ideally within logistics, transport, distribution, warehousing or related sectors.

You will bring:

• Experience operating as a Finance Director, Head of Finance or senior Financial Controller.
• Strong commercial acumen with expertise in margin management, pricing and profitability analysis.
• A track record of transforming finance functions, systems and reporting frameworks.
• Experience managing multiple P&Ls or divisional structures.
• The ability to influence and challenge at board level while remaining hands-on when required.
• Excellent leadership skills, with experience building and developing high-performing teams.
