Howett-Thorpe Recruitment Consultants Limited is working with a growing consumer-focused business to appoint an experienced Interim Financial Controller to review finance and operational processes from end-to-end, identifying bottlenecks and recommending improvements. You will report to the CEO and help shape a scalable finance function for future growth.

Qualifications

• Strong financial control and management accounting expertise.
• Experience reviewing end-to-end finance and operational processes.
• Ability to trace transactions from operational entry through to the financial statements.
• Experience identifying bottlenecks and improvements in finance systems and processes.

Responsibilities

• Review end-to-end process from order entry to month-end close.
• Understand how financial information moves across the organisation.
• Identify bottlenecks, delays, and breakdowns between areas.
• Investigate incomplete or delayed information reaching finance.
• Assess quality and reliability of financial information.
• Review effectiveness of current financial controls and processes.
• Assess revenue, costs, margins, stock, working capital and profitability reporting.
• Review cash-flow reporting and forecasting.
• Evaluate month-end close for accuracy and efficiency.
• Review systems and how they support processes.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
• Assess roles and accountability in the finance function.
• Recommend future finance team structure and resource needs.
• Consider interfaces with operational teams.
