Job summary

Global Accounting Network Limited seeks an Interim Finance Director to build the finance function from scratch for an asset-heavy renewables portfolio in the UK. The role requires hands-on execution, creating the COA, controls, cash flow forecasting, budgeting and board-level reporting, primarily using Excel.

The successful candidate will interface with procurement and maintenance systems, oversee outsourced AP/AR, and deliver institutional-grade reporting to PE investors.

Qualifications

• Build an exhaustive finance function from scratch including COA, controls and reporting.
• Deliver dynamic Excel-based models, budgets and rolling cash flow forecasts.
• Prepare board packs and investor reporting for PE backing.
• Interface with procurement and maintenance systems; oversee outsourced AP/AR.

Responsibilities

• Build the Finance Function from Scratch: Design and implement all core financial architecture, including the Chart of Accounts, management reporting suite, internal controls, and operational finance processes.
• Financial Planning & Analysis: Establish dynamic Excel-based financial models, budgeting frameworks, rolling cash flow forecasts, and long-term business planning.
• Board & Investor Reporting: Deliver clear, institutional-grade board packs and investor reports directly to the PE backing team.
• Process & Integration Oversight: Interface with existing operational tech stacks and oversee the outsourced AP/AR functions.
• Commercial Support: Work alongside operational heads to ensure smooth transition and drive margin optimization.
