Job summary

Dovetail & Slate Ltd is seeking an experienced Interim Estates and Facilities Manager to lead the estate and facilities function for a further education provider. You will oversee day-to-day operations, ensure safe, compliant environments for staff and learners, and coordinate with senior colleagues to plan maintenance and improvements.

The role requires the ability to manage multiple sites, oversee contractors, and drive health & safety compliance across the estate portfolio.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing estates and facilities services.
• Strong working knowledge of health, safety and statutory compliance in a built environment.
• Experience leading teams and managing contractors.
• Confident communication skills and the ability to work with stakeholders at all levels.
• Availability to start at the end of September 2026.

Responsibilities

• Managing the day-to-day operation of estates and facilities services across the provider's sites.
• Ensuring buildings, grounds and equipment are safe, compliant and well maintained.
• Leading and supporting the estates and facilities team.
• Overseeing contractors and service providers to make sure work is delivered to standard.
• Supporting health and safety compliance and statutory inspections.
• Working with senior colleagues to plan and prioritise maintenance and improvement work.
