Milton Keynes City Council is seeking an experienced Environmental Health Manager to provide interim leadership and management of its Regulatory Services function during a long-term sickness absence.

This senior role requires leading an Environmental Health, Public Protection or Regulatory Services function within a local authority, with strategic and operational responsibility for ~30 staff including 5–6 direct reports.

Qualifikationen

• Senior-level regulatory leadership experience.
• Experience managing Environmental Health/Public Protection within a local authority.
• Strong budgeting and strategic planning skills.

Aufgaben

• Lead Environmental Health and Regulatory Services to ensure statutory compliance.
• Provide professional oversight across Food Safety, Environmental Protection, Noise and Nuisance, Air Quality, Public Health and Safety.
• Oversee investigations, enforcement and complex regulatory decisions.
• Manage 5–6 direct reports within a ~30 staff service.
• Monitor performance indicators, budgets and targets.
• Develop service plans, policies and improvement initiatives.
• Support staff development and stakeholder relationships.
• Represent the council in meetings and external forums.
• Deliver value for money while meeting regulatory standards.
