Springer Nature is seeking an Interim Associate or Senior Editor for Nature Biomedical Engineering, to be based in London or Pune with a hybrid working model. The role focuses on handling manuscripts in bioengineering, imaging, and genome engineering, contributing to editorial activities and publishing strategy.

The candidate should hold a PhD in biomedical engineering, be fluent in English, and demonstrate strong communication and editorial skills.

Qualifications

• PhD required with strong scientific background.
• Fluent English in written and spoken form.
• Ability to read and assess novelty and implications of research.

Responsibilities

• Select and reject manuscripts for publication within editorial policy.Provide editorial guidance and collaborate with colleagues.
• Cover for absent editors and share knowledge within the team.
• Strengthen Nature Biomedical Engineering's reputation by building relationships with researchers and communicating effectively.
• Define topics for Perspective and Review Articles and edit manuscripts accordingly.
• Contribute to planning a publishing strategy and to journal development and operational excellence.
• Collaborate with other Nature editors and departments, including marketing and Sponsored projects.
