Job summary

University College London is seeking an experienced EDI professional to act as Interim Head of EDI Programmes and Charters, leading delivery, governance and development across a portfolio of equality initiatives. The role involves driving accountability, monitoring progress, and preparing high-quality papers for senior governance groups.

This 6-month secondment is available to current UCL staff only, with hybrid working and a minimum of two onsite days per week at London Kings Cross.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience leading complex EDI programmes in large organisations.
• Strong governance, risk management and reporting skills.
• Experience with Athena Swan or Race Equality Charter.
• Proven people leadership and team development.
• Knowledge of Equality Act 2010 and reasonable adjustments.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership across EDI programmes and charters.
• Develop reporting frameworks and KPIs for governance groups.
• Identify risks and ensure progress against priorities.
• Collaborate with senior leaders and stakeholders across the organisation.
• Translate insight into practical action for measurable change.
