Job summary

Police Scotland is seeking an experienced senior leader to undertake the role of Interim Chief Operating Officer (COO) within our Digital Division for up to 12 months. The postholder will report to the Chief Digital and Information Officer and act as deputy, shaping and delivering digital ambitions while ensuring critical services meet policing needs across Scotland.

The role covers operational leadership across digital service delivery, technology operations, governance, budgets and programmes,

Qualifications

• Senior leadership experience in digital/IT operations or equivalent.
• Proven ability to manage complex portfolios of programs and budgets.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and senior-level influencing skills.
• Excellent communication and change-management capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the operational management of Police Scotland's Digital Division.
• Oversee governance, financial management, programs and people leadership with accountability for budgets.
• Drive digital transformation programmes and the delivery of critical digital services for policing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners and senior stakeholders to improve operational performance.
