Protocol is recruiting for an Interim Construction Curriculum Manager based in Derbyshire. The role focuses on leading the Construction curriculum, driving quality and growth, and engaging with employers to ensure relevant provision.

You will oversee curriculum planning, QA, staff development and performance management, while ensuring excellent learner outcomes within a 37-hour week on a temporary basis up to 6 months.

  • Lead Construction curriculum teams to achieve excellent student and apprentice outcomes.

  • Monitor and analyse performance data; implement interventions to boost achievement, attendance, retention and progression.
  • Develop and implement curriculum plans meeting local, regional and national skills priorities.
  • Manage staffing, recruitment, performance reviews and professional development.
  • Oversee curriculum budgets, resource planning and financial performance.
  • Collaborate with employers and stakeholders to ensure relevant programmes with progression opportunities.
  • Support delivery of English, maths and digital skills across the curriculum.
  • Ensure compliance with awarding body, funding and QA requirements.
  • Promote positive learner experiences and maximise success.

Interim Construction Curriculum Manager
Derbyshire based Further Education College
37 hours per week
Temporary for up to 6 months

We are currently recruiting for a Curriculum Manager - Construction on behalf of a well-established Further Education College. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced education leader to take responsibility for the management, development and performance of a Construction curriculum area, ensuring an outstanding experience for students and apprentices whilst driving quality, achievement and growth.

Reporting to the Director of School, you will lead curriculum staff to deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across a range of Construction programmes. You will play a key role in curriculum planning, quality improvement, staff development, employer engagement and ensuring provision remains responsive to local skills needs and industry demand.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage Construction curriculum teams to achieve excellent student and apprentice outcomes.
  • Drive continuous improvement in teaching, learning and assessment through effective quality assurance processes.
  • Monitor and analyse performance data, implementing interventions to improve achievement, attendance, retention and progression.
  • Develop and implement curriculum plans which meet local, regional and national skills priorities.
  • Manage staffing, recruitment, performance reviews and professional development within the department.
  • Oversee curriculum budgets, resource planning and financial performance.
  • Work closely with employers and stakeholders to ensure programmes remain relevant and provide meaningful progression opportunities.
  • Support the delivery of English, maths and digital skills across the curriculum.
  • Ensure compliance with awarding body, funding and quality assurance requirements.
  • Promote positive student and apprentice experiences, ensuring appropriate support is in place to maximise success.
Must have:
  • Experience of leading curriculum teams within Further Education, Apprenticeships or Skills. A background in Construction would be advantageous; however, this is not essential for candidates who can demonstrate strong curriculum management and leadership experience.
  • A strong understanding of quality assurance, curriculum planning and performance management.
  • Experience of driving improvements in student achievement and teaching quality.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and people management skills.
  • The ability to analyse data and use performance information to drive improvements.
  • Experience working collaboratively with employers and external stakeholders.
  • A commitment to delivering outstanding learner experiences and outcomes.
  • DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for a new one.
