Job summary

Eversheds Sutherland in London, West End, is recruiting for a broad and highly visible compliance role. The candidate will operate with autonomy across multiple European jurisdictions and partner closely with internal teams, external advisers and legal counsel in a fast-paced private equity environment.

The role requires ownership, the ability to navigate complex stakeholders, and delivering practical compliance guidance with a pragmatic, commercially minded approach.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of financial services compliance and the regulatory environment relevant to private equity.
• Experience with SMCR regimes and disclosures.
• Ability to work with lawyers and external advisers and manage risk.

Responsibilities

• Manage compliance activities across European operations and multiple jurisdictions.
• Provide practical guidance to internal stakeholders and investment teams.
• Coordinate with external counsel on regulatory and compliance matters.
• Develop and enhance compliance policies, procedures and controls.
• Monitor regulatory developments and assess impact on the business.
• Advise on a broad range of compliance matters within a private equity environment.
• Support regulatory filings, monitoring, risk assessments and reviews.
• Identify and escalate significant compliance risks.
