Job summary

Morson Group is partnering with a high-growth engineering and technology business delivering next-generation infrastructure projects to support the UK's energy needs. We are seeking an Interim Buyer to drive tactical and mid-complexity procurement across indirect categories, focusing on value, continuity and governance.

Based in Derby, the role requires 2-3 days on-site per week at the Derby Office. The contract runs for 6 months with potential to extend, paying £300 per day inside IR35 via

Qualifications

• Proven procurement or category management experience, ideally in a regulated environment.
• Experience managing indirect categories such as IT, Corporate Services, Property, FM & Manufacturing.
• Strong stakeholder and supplier-management skills with cross-functional influence.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced procurement professional to deliver tactical and mid-complexity procurement activity across a range of indirect categories. You will manage defined supplier portfolios, lead sourcing activity, negotiate commercial terms and ensure effective contract implementation, while maintaining a strong focus on value, continuity and governance.

Essential Skills

• Proven procurement or category management experience ideally working within a regulated environment.
• Ideally prior experience managing indirect categories such as IT, Corporate Services, Property, FM & Manufacturing.
• Strong stakeholder and supplier-management skills, with the ability to influence across multiple functions and levels.
• Experience managing sourcing activity, supplier negotiations, contracts and commercial outcomes from end to end.
