Job summary

1st Executive Ltd is seeking an Interim Buyer to join a fast-paced, regulated environment in the UK. You will own day-to-day procurement across Indirects, CapEx and MRO, partnering with Engineering, Finance and Operations to drive tangible cost improvements.

The role requires hands-on sourcing, RFQs, supplier selection and performance management, with SAP/Ariba experience valued. Immediate availability and full UK right to work are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing, engineering or regulated environment.
• Experience with SAP/Ariba, capital projects, MRO or manufacturing indirects.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day procurement across the site.
• Manage procurement requests and support purchasing decisions.
• Run sourcing exercises, RFQs, quotation analysis and supplier selection.
• Support Indirect, CapEx and MRO spend categories.
• Manage supplier performance across cost, quality, delivery and compliance.
• Drive cost and cash improvements, including PPV and value-generation initiatives.
• Support supplier risk, continuity and mitigation plans.
• Partner with Engineering, Finance, Quality and Operations on key projects.

Interim Contract | Procurement | Indirects & CapEx

We’re looking for an Interim Buyer to join a fast-paced, regulated organisation, acting as the key Procurement contact for a major operational site.

This is a broad, hands-on procurement role offering exposure across Indirects, CapEx and MRO, working closely with Engineering, Finance, Quality and operational stakeholders.

The role

You'll take ownership of day-to-day procurement activity across the site, including:

Managing procurement requests and supporting key purchasing decisions

Running sourcing exercises, RFQs, quotation analysis and supplier selection

Supporting Indirect, CapEx and MRO spend categories

Managing supplier performance across cost, quality, delivery and compliance

Driving cost and cash improvements, including PPV and value-generation initiatives

Supporting supplier risk, continuity and supply-chain mitigation plans

Partnering with Engineering, Finance, Quality and Operations to support key projects

What we’re looking for

You’ll ideally bring experience within a manufacturing, engineering or similarly regulated environment, with a strong grounding in sourcing, supplier management and commercial analysis.

Experience of SAP/Ariba, capital projects, MRO or manufacturing indirects would be particularly valuable.

This would suit an immediately available Buyer / Senior Buyer who enjoys being close to the business, engaging directly with stakeholders and suppliers, and delivering tangible procurement results from day one.
