A specialist manufacturer in the Truro area seeks an experienced Assistant Accountant for an interim role starting ASAP until December 2023. The position involves supporting monthly accounts preparation, managing accruals and reconciliations, and assisting in year-end audits. Preferred candidates will have a recent AAT qualification or relevant QBE experience, along with strong IT and communication skills.
Trial Balance Consulting have been reengaged one of our longstanding clients, a specialist manufacturer and services business based in the Truro area, who seek to recruit an experienced Assistant Accountant to join them on an interim basis, commencing ASAP until December 2023. This is a full time role which can be operated on a hybrid working arrangement to suit the employer and successful candidate.
The role will be supported by a highly experienced Finance Director and works as part of a small but efficient finance function.
Typical duties to include:
- Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts
- Accruals and prepayments
- Variance analysis and budget reviews
- Monitor accounts payable function ensuring correct allocation of PO numbers etc.
- Assist colleagues with aged debtor management
- Balance sheet and account reconciliations
- Assist in year-end audit preparations
We’re looking for a candidate with at least 12 months of recently gained experience operating at Accounts Assistant or Assistant Accountant level, ideally (though not essentially), within a manufacturing setting. The role would be particularly well suited to a recently qualified AAT candidate or somebody with suitable exposure at QBE level. Strong IT aptitude and good spreadsheet skills are essential as will be excellent interpersonal skills as the successful candidate will liaise with department heads throughout the business.
