The Edinburgh Dungeon, part of Merlin, is recruiting theatrical talent for its Halloween to Christmas period. You could bring to life characters like a Judge, Torturer, or Mary Queen of Scots in a 75-minute interactive tour.

Shows run every 8–10 minutes at peak times, requiring stamina and comfort in tight spaces. Roles include evenings, weekends, and occasional late-night Dungeon Lates with props and effects.

Qualifications

• Background in performance and character acting.
• Strong characterization skills.
• A voice that commands attention (Scottish accent a plus).
• Quick script learning with ability to take direction.
• Improvisation mastery for guest interaction.
• Stamina to perform multiple shows in tight spaces.

Responsibilities

• Perform 75-minute interactive shows in themed spaces.
• Play roles such as Judge, Torturer or Mary Queen of Scots.
• React to guests with improvisation; manage on-stage chaos.
• Operate some special effects to enhance shows.
• Work evenings, weekends and late-night events (Dungeon Lates).
