Job summary

Spinwell is seeking an Interaction Designer to work on public sector web projects. You will design accessible, content-heavy sites and campaigns, using WordPress or similar CMS, and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.

You will translate user research into practical design improvements, create prototypes, and test iteratively to refine UX, journeys, and information architecture across live services.

• Maintain design files in Figma and create reusable design assets.
• Work on live service improvements and future platform development.

Spinwell is recruiting for an Interaction Designer for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.

INTERACTION DESIGNER JOB DESCRIPTION

• Strong web design experience, including designing public-facing websites, content-heavy websites or campaign/recruitment-style sites.
• Experience designing for content management systems such as WordPress, or working with editors who create and maintain website content.
• Experience designing accessible, responsive and usable websites that work across different devices and user needs.
• Ability to design clear, usable journeys, page structures, navigation and task flows
• Ability to balance visual design, usability and accessibility, particularly where websites need to feel distinct from GOV.UK.
• Confidence working with multidisciplinary teams, including product managers, delivery managers, user researchers, content designers, developers and accessibility specialists.
• Strong Figma skills, including maintaining design files, documenting design decisions and creating reusable design assets.
• Ability to translate user research and content needs into practical design improvements for both website editors and end users.
• Experience designing prototypes and working with teams to test, iterate and refine designs.
• Comfortable working across live service improvements, future-facing platform development and design debt.
