Job summary

Autism Anglia, a well-established charity, is seeking a Support Worker to join our team at the Peldon Campus in Colchester, Essex. You will help autistic adults and those with learning disabilities develop life skills and achieve personal goals in a safe, supportive environment.

The role requires a Full UK Manual Driving Licence to drive Autism Anglia cars, with 37–39 hours per week. We welcome compassionate, patient applicants who can coordinate activities, support personal care, and follow

Qualifications

• Full UK manual driving licence.
• Experience as a Support Worker, Healthcare Assistant (HCA), Carer, Senior Support Worker, or Team Leader, preferably with autism or learning disabilities.
• Ability to identify and support the needs and aspirations of individuals with communication needs.
• Experience in providing intensive behavioural support.
• Strong communication skills and experience coordinating activities in the local area.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred, outcome-focused support.
• Maintain dignity, privacy and wellbeing; assist with personal care, health and hygiene.
• Support individuals in activities including sport, leisure, cultural events, day trips and holidays.
• Drive the people we support to appointments and activities.
• Assist with communication, sensory support or psychological monitoring and interventions.
• Ensure all support plans, risk assessments and documentation are up-to-date.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and act promptly on concerns.

This role requires a Full UK Manual Driving License in order to drive Autism Anglia cars.

Salary

From £25,003.61 per annum (£12.96 per hour)

Hours

Full-time: 37 -39 hours per week (overtime available)

About the role
