Job summary

Autism Anglia is seeking a part-time Support Worker for our Supported Living services in Colchester. You will work closely with autistic adults and individuals with learning disabilities to help them develop life skills, set personal goals, and thrive in a safe, supportive environment.

The role involves assisting with activities, communication, sensory support, and monitoring. A Full UK Manual Driving License is essential, and 20 hours per week are available with some overtime.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Support Worker, Carer, Senior Support Worker, or Team Leader.
• Experience working with Autistic individuals, or a strong understanding of Autism.
• Full UK driving licence is required.
• Experience in providing intensive behavioural support.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Supported Living Team to provide person-centred, outcome-focused support.
• Support individuals in activities including sport, leisure, cultural and day trips.
• Assist with communication, sensory support, or psychological monitoring and interventions.
• Drive mobility vehicles, requiring a Full UK Manual License.
• Ensure all support plans, risk assessments and documentation are accurate and up-to-date.
• Follow Safeguarding procedures and act promptly on concerns.

Support Worker - Supported Living - part time, Monday to Sunday shifts (alternate weekends)

£13,515.47 per annum (£12.96 per hour)

Hours

Part-time only: 20 hours per week (overtime available)

About the role

• Work in partnership with the wider Supported Living Team to provide person-centred, outcome-focused support
• Support individuals we support in a variety of activities, including sport, leisure, cultural and recreational events, day trips
• Assist with communication, sensory support, or psychological monitoring and interventions
• Drive mobility vehicles, therefore you must have a Full UK Manual License
• Ensure all support plans, risk assessments, and documentation are accurate, up-to-date, and reflective of individual needs
• Follow Safeguarding procedures and act promptly on any concerns

We welcome applications from individuals who

• Have experience as a Support Worker, Carer, Senior Support Worker, or Team Leader
• Have experience working with Autistic individuals, or are able to demonstrate a strong understanding of Autism
• Hold a full UK driving licence
• Are experienced in providing intensive behavioural support.
• Have strong communication skills and experience coordinating activities in the local area
