Job summary

Social Interest Group is seeking an Intensive Housing Management Officer to join our complex needs accommodation team on a fixed term basis in Romford. You will deliver housing management support to residents, focusing on sustaining tenancies, safety, health and financial independence.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team to manage rent collections, tenancy issues, risk assessments and safeguarding referrals, promoting dignity, inclusion and community reintegration while maintaining high

Qualifications

  • Experience coordinating activities for people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Experience with people of complex backgrounds and sector knowledge.
  • Knowledge of risk management and risk assessment.
  • Knowledge of license conditions and public protection.
  • Knowledge of tenancy management and sharing knowledge with a team.
  • Understanding housing and social needs of people with multiple and complex needs.
  • IT skills at intermediate level, including Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent written and oral communication; ability to build relationships.

  • Carry out regular occupancy checks.
  • Ensure all repairs and maintenance issues are reported and managed through to completion.

Job Title: Intensive Housing Management Officer

Location: Romford. This service does not have step free access

Salary: £28,800

Shift Pattern: Full-Time/Permanent contract, 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:00. You may be required to work outside these hours depending on service needs.

About the Role

We're looking for a Intensive Housing Management Officer to join our team on a fixed term basis to successfully rehabilitate and reintegrate our male residents back into the community. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining social contact and company to enhance quality of life, enhance personal safety, health and security, sustainment of tenancy, and improving financial independence and economic wellbeing to support our residents back into the community.

Our Complex Needs Accommodation provides supported accommodation, bespoke person-centred care and support as well as intensive housing management services in the community for adults with specific accommodation and well-being support needs. You will play a vital role in building safe, inclusive, and thriving communities for our residents. This dynamic position focuses on delivering high-quality housing management support, ensuring our properties are maintained to excellent standards and tenancies are successfully sustained. With a commitment to professionalism, teamwork, and customer service, you will address tenancy matters proactively, providing responsive support and fostering a positive environment where residents feel secure and valued.

Key Responsibilities Include:

What are looking for:
  • Previous experience in coordinating/delivering activities and interventions with people from different backgrounds
  • Experience of working with people of complex backgrounds and/or a good understanding of the sector
  • Knowledge of risk management and risk assessment
  • Knowledge of license conditions and public protection
  • Knowledge of tenancy management, able to share knowledge with others in the team and residents
  • Understanding of the housing and social needs of people with multiple and complex needs
  • The ability to use, learn and adapt to IT at an intermediate level, including Microsoft and other software programs.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and oral. Ability to form and build effective relationships and rapport with others
  • Ability to influence and negotiate positive outcomes with others; Proactive in making decisions
  • Ability and willingness to show flexibility of working patterns, responding to the needs of the service and residents
