Job summary

West Yorkshire Police seeks a Clerical Officer to join the Leeds District Public Protection team. You will provide clerical, analytical and intelligence support to frontline officers handling high‑risk and MAPPA cases, maintaining records and ensuring compliance with legislation and force policy.

The role involves preparing documentation and supporting multi‑agency meetings, coordinating briefs and handling sensitive material with professionalism.

Qualifications

• Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
• Experience of working in an office or administrative environment.
• Ability to work independently and use initiative.
• Effective workload management and prioritisation skills.
• IT literacy including Microsoft Office, with willingness to learn police systems.

Responsibilities

• Record, research and maintain intelligence on systems such as ViSOR, Niche, Corvus, Storm and CARM.
• Prepare files and documentation for operational and multi‑agency use.
• Support information sharing with partner agencies including Probation and other statutory bodies.
• Respond professionally to internal and external enquiries.
• Assist with coordination of meetings and preparation of briefing materials.
