Job summary

Avon and Somerset Police in Portishead seeks a part-time Intelligence Assistant for the Live Cell Intelligence Team. The role focuses on identifying data sources, developing intelligence, and supporting high-priority processing and PNC updates to aid ongoing incidents.

You will work in a 24/7 shift pattern on a 11.9 hour per week basis, with a 20% shift allowance and weekend enhancements. Flexibility in location and hours may be required.

Qualifications

• IPP accreditation or willingness to achieve within 2 years.
• Excellent IT skills with experience of office applications and databases including Excel.
• Excellent communicator both verbally and written with experience sharing information.
• Experience in undertaking and presenting qualitative and quantitative research with attention to detail.
• Knowledge of the European Convention on Human Rights and the Investigatory Powers Act advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Process high priority intelligence submissions submitted out of hours to support processing teams.
• Complete PNC updates on behalf of internal departments and external agencies with accurate information.
• Research and use a variety of intelligence databases and provide live-time intelligence for ongoing incidents.
• Assist with sharing key information effectively within an Operations Room environment.
