Job summary

Aon PLC is seeking an Insurance Bid & Pursuit Project Manager to lead competitive tenders and client proposals across UK locations. The role involves collaborating with broking, claims, risk consulting, and specialist teams to develop tailored solutions for clients, while guiding strategy and messaging at senior levels.

The position is hybrid, with offices and client work across Scotland and the North of England, including Manchester, offering flexible arrangements and opportunities to influence

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial insurance, risk management, broking, or similar role.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end bid, RfP, and presentation projects and deliver compliant submissions.
• Understand clients’ businesses and insurance programmes to support opportunities.
• Collaborate with brokers, claims, risk consultants, and specialists to develop client solutions.
• Partner with senior stakeholders to develop bid strategies and client presentations.
• Review and improve proposal content for clarity, accuracy, and alignment with client objectives.
• Manage multiple projects to tight timescales and quality standards.

This is a hybrid role, offering the flexibility to work both virtually and from an office location that suits you. Office locations are available across Scotland (Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow) and the North of England (Birmingham, Leeds, Leicester, Manchester, Newcastle and Sheffield)

What the day will look like

You’ll lead competitive tenders, client proposals, and strategic business opportunities. Working closely with colleagues across broking, claims, risk consulting, and specialist teams to develop solutions for clients, and demonstrate the value Aon can provide.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead end-to-end bid, RfP, and presentation projects, delivering high-quality, compliant submissions that demonstrate Aon’s value to clients
• Develop an understanding of clients’ businesses, risks, insurance programmes, and priorities to support new business and existing client opportunities
• Work with brokers, claims colleagues, risk consultants, and specialists to develop solutions for clients
• Partner with senior stakeholders to develop bid strategies, key messages, and client presentations
• Review and improve proposal content to ensure it is clear, accurate, compliant, and aligned to the client’s objectives
• Manage multiple projects, balancing priorities, driving collaboration, and ensuring delivery to agreed timescales and quality standards
• Lead post-bid reviews, share best practice, and use approved AI tools to improve the quality and efficiency of future submissions
