Job summary

Lane Clark & Peacock is recruiting a skilled Insurance Analytics Developer in London. You will contribute to InsurSight, our leading analytics platform, combining software engineering with actuarial insights to deliver impactful insurance analytics solutions.

You will work closely with data scientists, actuaries and developers within a multidisciplinary environment, taking ownership of features while receiving guidance from senior developers.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate proficiency in C# development (.NET 6 / 8).
• Experience with Azure PaaS/SaaS offerings, Azure Functions, App Services, Table/Queue/Blob Storage, ASP.NET WebAPI, CosmosDB.
• Knowledge of software engineering principles such as unit testing and SOLID.
• Exposure to or interest in non-life insurance analytics and bridging tech with actuarial science.
• Excellent communication skills and collaboration across cross-functional teams.
• Strong problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn continuously.
• Familiarity with Agile development processes and customer-centric delivery.
• Experience in Python development is beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Engage in iterative enhancement and feature development of InsurSight, aligning with the Insurance Analytics team's strategic vision.
• Primary focus on C# with supplementary involvement in other languages (e.g., Python) under guidance of senior developers.
• Collaborate across actuaries, analytics specialists, and developers to integrate analytics into software solutions, enriching the platform’s value proposition.
• Advocate and implement industry-standard software development practices, championing code quality, maintainability, and robust testing methodologies.
• Participate in the research, evaluation, and prototyping of emerging technologies and methods, contributing to continuous improvement.
• Disseminate technical knowledge within the team and support a learning-oriented culture.

Insurance Analytics Developer

Location - London with hybrid working available

We’re looking for a C# Developer to join our Insurance Analytics team, playing a crucial role in advancing LCP InsurSight, our leading insurance analytics platform. InsurSight has been used to assess over 150bn of non-life insurance business since launch in April 2020 and we are expanding the team to help us to support our expanding client base whilst delivering our exciting plans to develop the platform further. You will have the benefit of the guidance of our lead C# developer, but also the opportunity to take ownership of your work and to work closely with our wider team of data scientists, actuaries and industry specialists. Overall, the role offers an exciting blend of technical development and industry application, providing a fertile ground for professional growth in a multidisciplinary environment.

What will you be doing?

• Participate in the research, evaluation, and prototyping of emerging technologies and methods, contributing to the team’s innovation and continuous improvement ethos

• Facilitate the dissemination of technical knowledge within the team, aiding in the development of a learning-oriented culture that values curiosity and professional growth

What skills and experience are we looking for?

• Demonstrable proficiency in C# development (.NET 6 / 8)

• Practical knowledge of or eagerness to learn Azure PaaS/SaaS offerings (Azure Functions, App Services, Table/Queue/Blob Storage), ASP.NET WebAPI, and database technologies (CosmosDB)

• Demonstrable knowledge of software engineering principles such as unit testing, change management control and SOLID principles

• Exposure to or keen interest in the non-life insurance analytics domain, with a willingness to bridge technology and actuarial science to deliver impactful solutions

• Effective communication skills, capable of articulating technical concepts to diverse audiences and collaborating constructively within cross-functional teams

• A problem-solving mindset, proactive in identifying and addressing challenges, with a commitment to excellence and a penchant for continuous learning

• Familiarity with Agile development processes, emphasizing adaptability, collaboration, and a customer-centric approach to software development

• Experience in Python development is beneficial but not essential
