A leading company in engineering is seeking an experienced Instrumentation Engineer to join their team. This key position involves the design and maintenance of precision instrumentation, focusing on manufacturing wiring looms, calibrating sensors, and supporting system integration. Our client is seeking an experienced Instrumentation Engineer to join their dynamic team. This role is central to the design, manufacture, installation, and maintenance of precision instrumentation.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manufacture bespoke wiring looms and assemblies in accordance with circuit drawings and wiring lists
• Hand solder fine components both at the workbench and on models
• Install and wire miniature strain gauges
• Calibrate, maintain, test, and troubleshoot sensors, signal conditioning equipment, and data acquisition systems at the component level
• Specify instrumentation from customer requirements and support the design and integration of these systems into test rigs
• Prepare and install specialist optical measurement systems in test facilities
• Maintain detailed records, manage equipment organisation, and ensure all work meets Health & Safety and Quality Standards
• Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by recommending design, process, or hardware enhancements
• Work flexibly on a shift pattern (typically 07:00–15:00 and 14:00–22:00, with overtime as required)
Requirements:
• A relevant HNC/HND in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (or equivalent)
• Demonstrable, hands-on experience in a similar R&D or commercial environment
• Solid technical and analytical skills with a meticulous attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights, with a flexible approach to shift work
