Job summary

Hunter Selection is seeking an Instrumentation & Calibration Engineer for a role in Hoddesdon. You will support PPM and reactive calibration and maintenance on site instrumentation and control systems, including HVAC and process equipment.

The role includes an on-call rota and a Monday–Friday schedule with early/late shifts as required. You'll calibrate temperature, humidity, pressure, flow and speed instrumentation, maintaining equipment and traceable certifications using Maximo CMMS.

Qualifications

• Experience in instrumentation calibration or controls within manufacturing, utilities, chemicals, water or oil & gas.
• Level 3 engineering qualification or higher.
• Able to calibrate temperature, flow, speed and humidity instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Support all PPM and reactive calibration and maintenance on site instrumentation & control systems.
• Calibrate temperature, humidity, pressure, flow & speed instrumentation.
• Use of Maximo CMMS for job recording and scheduling.
• Deal with HVAC, reactor systems, stability chambers, utilities & cold rooms.
• Maintain calibration equipment and ensure traceability of certifications.

As an Instrumentation & Calibration Engineer your core role & responsibilities are:

• Responsible for supporting all PPM and reactive calibration, maintenance and fault finding on site instrumentation & control systems
• Calibration temperature, humidity, pressure, flow & speed instrumentation
• Use of Maximo CMMS systems
• Dealing with HVAC, reactor systems, stability chambers, utilities & cold rooms
• Maintain calibration equipment, make sure certification is current & traceable

Knowledge, skills & experience required to be an Instrumentation & Calibration Engineer in the team:

• Experienced within instrumentation, calibration or controls
• Previously have worked in manufacturing, utilities, chemicals, water or oil & gas
• Worked on BMS systems, HVAC, reactor systems, stability chambers, cold rooms
• Level 3 qualified or higher in engineering - ideally apprenticeship trained
• Must be able to do instrumentation calibration - temperature, flow, speed & humidity
• Ideally have worked to ATEX, GMP standards
• Good computer skills - use of CMMS systems
• Experienced with water systems, sensors, flowmeters, gas analysers - beneficial
• Knowledge of control systems & PLC programming - desirable
