Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Bath is seeking a Senior/Principal Controls & Instrumentation Engineer to undertake functional design, liaise with clients, and ensure high standards of design and documentation. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in PLC/SCADA programming and a relevant STEM degree.

Qualifications

• Relevant STEM Degree or equivalent required.
• Experience in PLC and SCADA programming preferred.
• Technical knowledge in Communications Systems (VOIP, Broadcast) or Control & Instrumentation required.

Senior / Principal Controls & Instrumentation Engineer

What you’ll be doing as an Controls & Instrumentation Engineer:

• Undertaking functional design, providing specialist advice and producing evidence
• Liaising with internal and external customers as part of a technical team
• Electrical/Electronic installation for Comms and C&I
• Design of Test Infrastructure and Hardware
• Write and produce technical & test documents

Your skills and experiences as an Controls & Instrumentation Engineer:

• A relevant Science, Technology, Engineering or, Mathematics (STEM) Degree or equivalent
• Experience in PLC and SCADA programming, C&I system verification test design or parts specification would be advantageous
• Good technical knowledge of practicing in at least one of the following areas: Communications Systems (Voice Over IP (VOIP) networks, Broadcast (PA) or trunked radio systems) or Control & Instrumentation (Siemens, Allan Bradley and Fanuc PLCs)
