Position Summary
Provide a maintenance service on measurement and control equipment and record results in accordance with appropriate internal and external standards and provide support for instrumentation breakdowns and assess any instrument safety issues.

  • Maintain, calibrate and test a wide range of measurement and control equipment in a process environment to ensure safety and quality compliance
  • Diagnose and repair instrumentation equipment and system faults including escalation where necessary to enhance production performance
  • Inspection of instrument, measurement and control equipment to verify the correct and safe operation
  • Verify and support the installation, operation and performance of new project installations as part of commissioning to ensure validation
  • Accurately Record and Report all maintenance activities to provide documented evidence of analysis and audit trail
  • Provide coaching & mentoring to apprentices and new technicians to contribute to their development
  • Ensure all activities comply with site safety procedure and safe systems of work including issuing and accepting permits for instrumentation systems
  • Conduct suitable handover to ensure job status is communicated to appropriate person

Basic Qualifications:

  • Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship in Instrumentation and Process Control
  • SVQ Level 3 and/or HNC in relevant discipline (Instrumentation)
  • Maintaining Measurement and Control Equipment for Instrumentation and/or Electrical Equipment
