Job summary

Corin Group in Cirencester is seeking an Instrument Kit Assistant to build and check hip/knee instrument sets for UK and export markets. You will process RGA returns, prepare instruments for Finished Goods Stores and allocate sets using Sage.

You will operate instrument washers, manage Kardex storage and maintain accurate stock records while liaising with other departments to hit kit build targets and uphold quality standards.

Qualifications

  • GCSE Maths and English at minimum.
  • Experience in warehouse, logistics, production or supply chain.
  • Experience assembling or building products with emphasis on quality.
  • Good computer literacy and ability to learn new systems.
  • Strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Build and functionally check instrument sets for UK, subsidiary and export markets.
  • Process Global Return Goods Authorisation (RGA) instruments and implants, ensuring timely receipt and disposition.
  • Prepare individual instruments for sale through Finished Goods Stores (FGS).
  • Use the Sage system to allocate instrument sets and components accurately.
  • Operate instrument washers to clean returned instrument sets and instruments.
  • Use Kardex shuttle systems to store and retrieve instrument sets and warehouse components.
  • Maintain accurate stock control and inventory records.
  • Proactively liaise with other departments to identify instrument component availability and support kit build targets.
  • Ensure all work meets company quality standards and procedures.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping within the department.
  • Support additional operational requirements as requested by management.

Due to continued growth, we're looking for an Instrument Kit Assistant to join our Global Supply Chain Operations team. This is a hands‑on role that plays a critical part in ensuring our surgical instrument sets are built, checked, maintained and distributed to customers across our UK, subsidiary and export markets.

This role is ideal for someone with a keen eye for detail, strong organisational skills and a proactive approach to problem‑solving. You'll be responsible for building and functionally checking instrument sets used in hip and knee replacement surgeries, processing customer returns and supporting stock control activities. Working closely with colleagues across the business, you'll help ensure instrument kits are available when needed to support surgeons and patients around the world.

Shift Patterns:
Double Days

– a two-week rotation consisting of one week of early shifts followed by one week of late shifts

Earlies

5.30 - 14:00 Monday to Thursday, 5.30 – 11:00 on Friday

Lates

13:45pm - 22.15 Monday to Thursday, 10:45am - 16:15pm on Friday

As an Instrument Kit Assistant, you will:
  • Build and functionally check instrument sets for UK, subsidiary and export markets.

  • Ensure all work is completed in line with company quality standards and procedures.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping within the department.
  • Support additional operational requirements as requested by management.
The ideal Instrument Kit Assistant will have/be:
  • A good standard of education, ideally including GCSE Maths and English.
  • Experience within a warehouse, logistics, production, manufacturing or supply chain environment.
  • Experience handling, assembling or building products, kits or components with a strong focus on quality and accuracy.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately in a fast‑paced environment.
  • The ability to prioritise workload, identify issues and proactively implement solutions.
  • A flexible approach and the ability to adapt to changing business demands.
  • Good computer literacy and confidence learning new systems.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships.
  • A positive, team‑focused attitude with the ability to work independently.
  • A strong work ethic and commitment to delivering high‑quality results.

Please note, a Hepatitis B vaccination is mandatory for this position, and our Occupational Health team will provide this for you.
