Job summary

Circle Health Group is seeking an Instrument Coordinator for Goring Hall Hospital in West Sussex. The role is 37.5 hours per week, permanent, with a flexible shift pattern.

You will oversee instrument prep, liaise with decontamination and external hospitals, and support theatre teams to ensure timely theatre schedules. Applicants should have theatre experience and strong organisational and communication skills, with knowledge of infection control and decontamination processes.

Responsibilities

• Ensure instruments are clean, functional and delivered on time to meet theatre schedules.

• Collaborate with theatre staff, sterile services, procurement and external providers.
• Ensure handling complies with hospital policies and regulatory guidelines.

Salary: Up to £25,000.00 per year (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

Goring Hall Hospital in West Sussex is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.

We have an opportunity for a Instrument Coordinator to join their team of staff in the Theatre department.

This is a full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

Duties Of This Role Include

• Oversee the preparation and availability of surgical instrumentation, liaising with internal decontamination services and external hospitals where required.
• Ensure all instruments are clean, functional, and delivered to the correct locations in a timely manner to meet daily theatre schedules.
• Assist in the ordering, rotation, and replenishment of theatre consumables, ensuring alignment with Circle Health Group’s preferred suppliers and procurement policies.
• Support the theatre team in delivering seamless surgical services, contributing to improved patient outcomes and satisfaction.
• Work closely with theatre practitioners, sterile services, procurement, and external providers to ensure clarity and continuity in equipment and stock availability.
• Ensure all instrumentation handling complies with hospital policies, infection prevention protocols, and regulatory guidelines.

Applicants Should Meet The Following Criteria

• Experience working within a theatre environment or clinical support role.
• Prior experience in a Theatre Instrument Coordinator role desirable.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload in a fast-paced setting.
• Basic understanding of infection control, instrument handling, and decontamination processes.
• Good communication and teamworking skills with a professional and reliable approach.
