Job summary

Scantec is recruiting a Senior Commissioning Engineer for a full-time, on-site contract role at Aldermaston. You will plan, coordinate and deliver commissioning activities on live nuclear projects, owning work packages from planning to formal completion.

The role requires a degree or HND in engineering and ~5 years’ project delivery experience, with strong organisational and communication skills. ISO 9001/14001 familiarity is desirable; IOSH training is provided where needed.

Qualifications

• 5 years’ experience in a project delivery role, ideally in decommissioning, waste management or environmental remediation.
• Training in IOSH Managing Safely or Level 2 Health and Safety in the Workplace will be provided where needed.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and deliver commissioning activities on live nuclear projects from planning and readiness through to execution and completion.
• Plan and deliver on-site and off-site commissioning, run tests against approved procedures and acceptance criteria, and maintain commissioning records and completion reports.
• Monitor progress, forecast completion, manage outstanding actions and escalations, and communicate with technical colleagues, contractors and stakeholders.

What you bring

• Degree or HND in an engineering discipline (essential)
• Membership of a relevant technical or professional body (desirable)
• 5 years’ experience in a project delivery role, ideally in decommissioning, waste management or environmental remediation
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to work to tight timescales
• Confident communicator with technical colleagues, contractors and external stakeholders
• Competent in MS Office, with familiarity with ISO 9001, 14001 and 18001 (desirable)
