About the role

As one of our Installation Trainees, you'll be training to become a qualified and accredited home installation specialist with the support of our knowledgeable team based in one of our Customer Delivery Hubs.

Once fully trained, you'll have the opportunity to bring our distinctive John Lewis service to customers' homes, installing products such as furniture, large electrical appliances, sound systems, and TV sets as part of a 2-person delivery crew. Due to the nature of the role, you need to be 18 years or older.

Key Responsibilities

Your day will start at the delivery hub before heading out on route. Responsibilities include:

• Being an ambassador for the John Lewis brand with excellent customer service.
• Helping load your lorry with deliveries alongside the warehouse team.
• Respecting the customer's home and handling unexpected situations professionally.
• Installing products efficiently and demonstrating their use to customers.
• Staying updated with new products and technologies.
• Maintaining a safe working environment.

Essential skills/experience

Previous installation experience is required. We will support your development with our installer accreditation. Other requirements include:

• Manual C1 UK driving licence (max 6 points).
• DCPC and Tachograph Card.
• Experience driving a 7.5-tonne vehicle.
• Customer-facing experience.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Physical ability to handle large items.
• Understanding of technology.

Desirable skills/experience

• White goods installation and disconnection.
• TV installation.
• Assembly of flat-pack furniture.
