Job summary

Selwood Limited is seeking an Installation Operative to join our Leeds branch. The role involves working at the yard and on-site pump installations across the UK, with a need for flexibility and a team ethos.

You will engage with customers, handle loading/unloading, and ensure paperwork accuracy, while maintaining high safety standards. The role requires sitting on-call availability, willingness to travel, and a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Must have a Full UK driving licence (no more than 6 points).
• Willing to travel across the UK and stay away from home when required.
• Physically capable for a demanding role.
• Aptitude to work on client sites including construction, wastewater and clean water.

Responsibilities

• Install pipework and assist drivers with loading/unloading of vehicles, and check paperwork, missing items, damages and fuel charges.
• Promote and deliver the company's mission and high-quality installation service across the UK.
• Identify and recommend improvements to make the business more efficient and unique.
• Put safety first at all times and stop the installation if safety issues arise with supervisor guidance.

About The Role

We are looking to welcome an Installation Operative to join our team based at our Leeds branch. This role will be based at both our branch yard as well as working on site based pump installations when required.

This role requires a confident self starter who can work with a team ethos. Flexibility is a must due to the changing needs of our business due to the requirements of our customers.

This role will come into contact with Selwood customers, so communication and good interpersonal skills are paramount. The Installation Operative will be heavily involved in the day to day operations of our branch and projects within the surrounding region under the direction of the Installation Supervisors.

Tasks & Responsibilities

• You will promote and exercise the company's mission statement and core values to deliver a high-quality installation service across the UK.
• Your role will be to install pipework and assist our drivers with loading and unloading of our vehicles as well as checking against paperwork, missing items, damages, and fuel charges.
• As this is a physically demanding role a good level of fitness is required.
• Identify and recommend creative solutions and processes to make our business more unique and attractive and to become more efficient.
• Put safety first every time, demonstrate the confidence, knowledge, and experience to stop the installation and advise your supervisor if any safety issues arise at any time.

Qualifications & Personal Attributes

• Must have the aptitude to work on client sites, including construction, wastewater, and clean water.
• Flexible working hours and be available to be part of an 'on call' rota
• Must be willing to travel to jobs throughout the UK and on occasions work away from home.
• Full UK driving licence (no more than 6 points).

Preferred (but not essential)

• Holder of a construction skills CSCS card.
• National Water Hygiene Card.
• Confined space trained.
• Forklift truck operator certification.
• An understanding of the workings of a temporary / permanent pumping solution.

This role requires the employees to be willing and able to work at heights, work in confined spaces, lone working and work with sewage.

This role is subject to a safety critical medical.
