My client is an established UK provider of pumps, pumping systems and associated installation and servicing solutions is seeking an experienced Pump Installation Engineer to join its team.
The business supplies and installs bespoke pumping systems across the building services, civil/structural and wastewater sectors, supporting clients with reliable drainage and sewage solutions.
The Role
We are looking for a reliable, enthusiastic and flexible Pump Installation Engineer to join our team.
The role will primarily involve working on sites in London and surrounding areas, with occasional UK-wide travel. Overnight stays will be required, typically a minimum of two nights per week.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, servicing, maintenance and repair of pumping equipment and pump stations, working safely and efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
Key Requirements
The successful applicant should ideally have:
- At least 2 years' relevant experience.
- Previous experience installing and servicing pump stations.
- Experience working in construction or similar site environments.
- The ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- The ability to work independently, with minimal supervision and to tight deadlines.
- A strong understanding of Health & Safety requirements.
- A positive, flexible and team-focused approach.
- CSCS certification.
- The ability to work outside normal working hours when required.
- The ability to work in confined spaces; appropriate training can be provided where necessary.
- The ability to travel and stay away from home as required.
- The ability to complete timesheets, job sheets, vehicle stock records and expense documentation accurately and promptly.
- Experience using lifting equipment and confined-space equipment, including harnesses, man-riding equipment and gas detection equipment.
- The ability to disconnect and remove pumps and accurately document maintenance and repairs.
- Experience fitting floats, stepping relays and other general maintenance components.
- The ability to take electrical measurements and readings using volt and ohm meters.
- Willingness to undergo DBS/security checks where required by clients.
Responsibilities will include:
- Installing, servicing and maintaining pump stations and associated equipment.
- Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs.
- Disconnecting and removing pumps safely.
- Fitting floats, stepping relays and general maintenance components.
- Taking electrical measurements and readings.
- Using lifting and confined-space equipment safely and correctly.
- Completing maintenance and repair documentation.
- Maintaining accurate job, timesheet, vehicle stock and expense records.
- Working in accordance with company and site Health & Safety procedures.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues, clients and other site personnel.
Working Conditions
- This is a predominantly site-based role and may involve:
- Working in basements and other restricted-access areas.
- Working in confined spaces.
- Working outside normal hours when necessary.
- Regular travel, including overnight stays.
- Occasional UK-wide travel.
