Job summary

Gildersome Primary in Leeds is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our pastoral team or work as a general TA.

You will support pupils with special educational needs under the SENDCo, provide 1:1 help, assist with maths and literacy interventions, and help create an inclusive classroom.

We value high standards, effective communication with staff and parents, and a proactive approach to safeguarding and student welfare.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering Mathematics and Literacy intervention programmes.
• Experience supporting pupils with challenging behaviour.
• Ability to work with pupils on a 1:1 basis.
• Good Literacy and Numeracy skills.
• Sound knowledge of child protection policies.
• Ability to work as part of a team and independently.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of quality learning under SENDCo and teaching staff.
• Provide 1-1 support for pupils with additional needs, including SEMH.
• Encourage pupil participation in social and academic activities.
• Assist with class routines and targeted interventions.
• Maintain safeguarding and child protection awareness in the classroom.
