Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a passionate SEND Teacher to join a specialist school in London, working with pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) to help them reach their full potential.

You will deliver engaging, differentiated lessons, adapt teaching strategies to individual needs, support pupils with additional needs including autism, and work closely with Teaching Assistants, therapists and the wider SEND team to implement EHCP targets and monitor

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching pupils with SLD/MLD or other SEND needs.
• Strong understanding of differentiated teaching and personalised learning.
• Experience working with EHCPs and individual learning plans.
• Excellent behaviour management and communication skills.
• Patient, flexible and compassionate approach to teaching.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver creative, engaging lessons tailored to pupils with SLD and MLD.
• Adapt teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs and abilities.
• Support pupils with additional needs, including autism, communication difficulties and complex learning needs.
• Work closely with Teaching Assistants, therapists and the wider SEND team.
• Implement EHCP targets and monitor individual pupil progress.
• Create a positive, inclusive and nurturing classroom environment.
• Promote independence, communication and essential life skills.
