Job summary

Inspire EHC Ltd, in partnership with a specialist SEN school near Colchester, is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join on a temporary to permanent basis.

You will support pupils with additional needs in a calm, inclusive setting, assisting with learning activities and EHCP targets, while collaborating with teachers and support staff to promote safeguarding and positive outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEN, autism or learning difficulties is highly desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4/C or above) or equivalent.
• A patient, resilient and proactive approach.

Responsibilities

• Support students in lessons under the guidance of the Class Teacher.
• Assist with the preparation and delivery of learning activities and individual learning plans.
• Help pupils access the curriculum and engage in learning opportunities.
• Support learners with communication, social development and emotional regulation.
• Accompany students on educational visits and enrichment activities.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to student progress reviews.
• Promote positive behaviour and respond to challenging situations.
