Job summary

Protocol Education is seeking a Science Teacher for a supportive secondary school in Shropshire. You will deliver high-quality lessons across KS3–KS4, assess progress, and support attainment while contributing to departmental development.

A QTS or equivalent is required, with DBS checks and safeguarding commitments emphasized. The role offers long-term potential and potential permanent opportunities, with access to teaching resources and professional development within a collaborative leadership

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience teaching Science in a secondary school setting.
• Strong subject knowledge in Science.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• Ability to engage and motivate students of varying abilities.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children.
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Science lessons in line with the National Curriculum.
• Teach Science across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
• Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing constructive feedback.
• Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all students.
• Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
• Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management.
• Support students in achieving academic potential and developing problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Participate in departmental meetings, parents' evenings, and school events.
• Contribute to curriculum development and school improvement initiatives.
