Job summary

GSL Education Hull Branch is seeking a creative, dedicated Teacher of Music to join a supportive secondary school in North Yorkshire. You will deliver engaging lessons across the Music curriculum, helping students develop theoretical understanding and practical skills in singing, instrumental performance, composition and music technology.

The role is temporary, part-time and term-time only with a start date as soon as possible.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Strong subject knowledge across musical disciplines.
• Experience teaching Music in a secondary school.
• Confident delivering both theoretical and practical aspects.
• Excellent classroom management and communication.
• Creative, enthusiastic, student-focused teaching approach.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Music lessons that meet learning objectives.
• Develop students' musical knowledge, performance skills, creativity and confidence.
• Provide opportunities for singing, instrumental performance, composition and music tech.
• Differentiate teaching to support varying abilities and needs.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive and purposeful classroom environment.
• Assess and monitor progress, giving constructive feedback.
