Job summary

Harris Academy Orpington is seeking a dedicated Teacher of English to join our team of educators. The successful candidate will have QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree, with experience in secondary teaching, preferably in multi-ethnic urban schools within an 11-18 setting.

The role requires strong knowledge of the National Curriculum KS3/KS4, ability to plan, develop resources, assess students, and lead learning with high expectations and inclusive practices.

Qualifications

  • Hold QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree.
  • Secondary teaching experience; ideally in multi-ethnic urban schools and in an 11-18 setting.
  • Understand theory and practice of effective teaching and learning.
  • Value high expectations and equality of access; tutoring role.
  • Know National Curriculum KS3/KS4; lesson plans, resources and assessment.
