Job summary

Resicare Alliance Ltd is seeking an experienced Registered Manager to lead a residential children’s home, ensuring high-quality care for children and young people with SEMH. You will oversee compliance, staffing, and service delivery while driving positive outcomes for each child.

The role requires safeguarding, DBS clearance, strong leadership, and robust liaison with Local Authorities and Ofsted. You will champion professional development and continuous improvement in a supportive team

Qualifications

• Essential: Recognised Social Work qualification.
• Level 4+ Management or Leadership qualification.
• Enhanced DBS check valid for working with children.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Desirable: Additional childcare or leadership qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead the senior management team to ensure the home operates effectively and meets quality standards.
• Line manage staff, providing mentorship, supervision, and professional development.
• Manage staffing, recruitment, and workforce planning, including permanent, bank, and agency staff.
• Oversee referrals, admissions, and care practices to meet individual needs.
• Deliver the service within budget and occupancy targets, supporting continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with all statutory, regulatory, and contractual obligations, including Ofsted requirements.
• Monitor care plans, risk assessments, and activity programmes, ensuring regular review.
• Investigate incidents, complaints, and allegations, acting as investigating officer where required.
• Build strong relationships with Local Authorities, LADO, Ofsted, and other professionals.
• Fulfil Health & Safety and safeguarding responsibilities for children and staff.
• Keep up to date with legislation, research, and best practice in childcare and SEMH.
