Job summary

John Henry Newman Catholic College in Solihull is seeking a Teacher of RE and Social Science on a maternity cover contract for 12 months. You will deliver high-quality RE and Social Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential KS5, within our vibrant Catholic community.

The successful candidate will maintain a calm, inclusive classroom, collaborate with the Humanities department, and support students pastorally as a form tutor.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Academic Excellence: be a subject specialist capable of delivering high-quality RE and Social Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and potentially KS5), ensuring all students make excellent progress during this 12-month tenure.
• Master the Classroom: Demonstrate the ability to maintain a purposeful, calm, and inclusive learning environment that fosters curiosity and high expectations for all learners.
• Collaborate & Innovate: Work seamlessly within the Humanities department, contributing to shared resources, departmental meetings, and the wider life of the school.
