Job summary

Maiden Erlegh Trust is seeking an energetic PE teacher to plan and deliver engaging lessons, promote sport, wellbeing and high academic achievement, and inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4.

You will develop an ambitious PE curriculum, lead extra‑curricular activities, support students’ personal development, uphold safeguarding and inclusivity, and, where required, drive a minibus, contributing to the Trust’s broader life and education aims.

Qualifications

• Must hold QTS or be working towards it.
• Ability to teach PE across Key Stages 3 and 4; KS5 desirable.
• Passion for sport and promoting healthy lifestyles.
• Strong subject knowledge and commitment to high-quality teaching.
• High expectations of achievement, attendance and behaviour.
• Ability to inspire and engage students from diverse backgrounds.
• Demonstrates excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• Committed to inclusion and ensuring every student succeeds.
• Enthusiasm to contribute to extensive extra-curricular sports programme.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging PE lessons for Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Maintain high standards of behaviour for learning in a safe, inclusive environment.
• Monitor and assess student progress, using feedback to inform teaching.
• Lead and support extra-curricular activities and sports clubs.
• Act as form tutor supporting student progress and wellbeing.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents and carers for best outcomes.
• Uphold safeguarding, health and safety, and assessment requirements.
• Participate in school events and wider life of the Trust.
