Job summary

Supply Desk Ltd is seeking a passionate and dedicated Physical Education (PE) Teacher to inspire pupils at a Prestwood school. Deliver engaging PE lessons, promote healthy lifestyles and support students of all abilities to develop skills, confidence and teamwork.

The role is full-time with a January start, emphasises safeguarding and a positive learning environment, and includes opportunities for professional development within a supportive school community.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of a range of sports, physical activities and teaching techniques.
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
• The ability to motivate and inspire pupils of different ages and abilities.
• A positive, energetic and enthusiastic approach to teaching.
• The ability to adapt lessons to meet individual learning needs and encourage participation from all pupils.
• A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures, with a commitment to promoting pupils' safety and well-being.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one, in accordance with the school's recruitment requirements.

Responsibilities

• Encourage pupils to develop their physical skills, coordination, fitness and confidence.
• Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, discipline and positive behaviour during lessons and sporting activities.
• Adapt lessons and activities to accommodate pupils of different abilities and additional needs.
• Assess, monitor and record pupil progress, providing constructive feedback to support development.
• Create a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment where all pupils feel encouraged to participate.
• Organise and support extracurricular sporting activities, clubs and school competitions.
• Ensure all PE equipment and facilities are used safely and maintained appropriately.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to support the wider curriculum and promote healthy lifestyles.
• Maintain high standards of behaviour, safeguarding and pupil well-being throughout all activities.
